The Sancal brand was founded by Santiago Castaño in 1973. Initially, the company had just three employees: Santiago himself, his wife, and his brother. However, the company achieved tremendous success thanks to the relentless energy of its creator. By deciding to leave a profitable position to focus on furniture production, Santiago made the right choice. Today, the company is managed by the founder's daughter, Esther. The small studio Estudio Sancal, led by her and Elena Castaño, has become a multifaceted creative laboratory undertaking graphic, interior, and industrial design projects from scratch.
Since its inception, Sancal has consistently aimed to combine quality, innovation, and original style, allowing it to maintain a strong position in the furniture market. Sancal furniture design actively incorporates vibrant colors and exciting shapes. The brand collaborates with various designers and architects, leading to diverse styles and concepts. The 1990s marked a significant turning point in the brand's development, as independent industrial and interior design designers, such as Miguel Mila and Hemma Bernal, were brought on board for collaboration.
